Hi, Windows 10 64-bit. You should use the 64-bit version unless you can find a reason not to such as unsupported 64-bit drivers. I've installed plenty of Windows OS versions on laptops with no official support.
The package provides the installation files for DisplayLink Display Adapter (410D) USB Driver version 6.1.36484.0. In order to manually update your driver, follow the steps below (the next steps): 1. Go to Device Manager (right click on My Computer, choose Manage and then find Device Manager in the left panel) 2.
In all cases I managed to use previous driver versions.Exception: If you already had say Windows 7 32-bit, I'm not certain on what the UPGRADE options are to Windows 10. Can you install Windows 10 64-bit or not? I know you can't and keep programs but it's not clear on how the Clean install method works.
The 4GB limit in this case only matters if you have a 1GB or higher of Video RAM. The 4GB memory map includes: - VRAM, - System RAM, - minor other things. So on bootup, Windows allocates VRAM and some minor things into that memory map then whatever is left over can be allocated to System RAM. In your case, if you had 1GB of Video RAM then you'd be left with no more than 2.8GB of your 3GB System RAM. Not a big deal but it's still wasted.
You also couldn't use more System RAM in case you wanted to add some later for some reason. What version??. Why not try Windows 7 64-bit Tech Preview?
You can try right now for FREE and see if it works. Since it's very new it should have most or all of the drivers installed by default. If you have Windows 7/8 for the laptop already you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free when it's released this summer. If you don't you can still install the Preview then BUY the license later without reinstalling it.
